What is the Built-in Radio Chip Edition?

The Built-in Radio Chip Edition is our premium version that includes an integrated FM/AM radio chip, allowing you to listen to local radio stations directly through the CrownFocus system interface.

Key Benefits:

Full FM Band Access - Unlike the factory JDM head unit (limited to FM 90MHz and below), this version can tune into channels above FM 100MHz, giving you complete access to Australia's standard FM band and all local stations.

Independent Radio Operation - A dedicated "Radio" app appears in the CrownFocus menu, so you can enjoy FM/AM radio without needing your smartphone connected — perfect for when you want to save mobile data or simply prefer traditional radio.

All-in-One Solution - This edition includes everything from the Regular Edition (wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, screen mirroring) PLUS built-in radio functionality. It's the complete package for maximum flexibility.

What's Difference Between Regular Edition and Radio Edition?

Regular Edition - Ideal for CarPlay and Android Auto focus users

  • Designed for users who primarily rely on smartphone radio apps (e.g., ABC Listen, TuneIn)
  • No built-in radio chip included, but you can use any radio app through CarPlay/Android Auto
  • Full-featured system with excellent value

Built-in Radio Chip Edition - Perfect for frequent local radio listeners

  • Includes all features of the Regular Edition, PLUS a dedicated FM/AM radio chip
  • Allows you to listen to local radio stations directly through the CrownFocus system interface
  • Overcomes the factory JDM head unit limitation (which only supports frequencies below FM 90MHz) — this version can search and play channels above FM 100MHz, giving you full access to Australia's standard FM band
